I figured it out. . I thought I checked the rear pinion dust shield, I climbed back under for another look, and immediately saw wear marks on the housing from the shield. It doesn't keep a tight fit, so I think I should use an epoxy or something to keep it in place.

Edit; thanks for the quick reply, though!

Lol. I'm glad it was something simple. I'm driving this hoss 6 hours to the beach in September. No squeals will be nice.

Question... my 95 buzzes constantly when the drivers door is open even without the keys in the ignition. Also, the doors lock but unlock by themselves when the door is shut. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Thanks!

I noticed you have a V6 so I was wondering if you have a lot of issues with the head gasket? I've heard that this problem is pretty common.

I just picked up a 88 4runner v6 3.0 EFI too. It's got 190k miles on it. I havnt had any probs with it yet, but there is a ticking noise in the engine when running, and speeds up and louder when I accelerate.. Anyone know how I can fix this sound??

Depends entirely on what's causing it. Your description makes me think exhaust leak, but it could be a lot of other things too.

Has anyone fixed their rear window switch? Mine will roll up but not down with the switch but it rolls up and down with the key lock though.

1995 3.0 v6 swap with 3.4 v6

Hey I was wondering if it was a good idea to swap a 3.0 v6 motor with a 3.4 v6 in my 1995 4runner. Would everything fit nicely or would it be a pain to put in the 3.4?
