Take a listen if you've got a sec..
After a great journey of putting in a new motor, a year later I now find myself with a problem. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry the video was at night- had a friend over and was able to get close to the noise while he gave it a little gas. Hopefully the sound is noticeably to someone. Thanks again.

Thank you!
This is so great! I found FSM's on ebay but couldn't afford them. Thought that was my only option. Glad to find this treasure chest of info!

I tried everywhere I can think of and its been discontinued. I'm restoring my 89 DLX and got all new weatherstripping for the front door windows, runs and weatherstripping for the doors.
Thanks so much!

1st Gen Help
Hey everyone!
I am the recent new owner of a 1989 3VZE.
Been having a couple minor issues I am trying to work through on my own and wanted to see if y'all had any advice.
Cruising around town the car runs like new. At highway speed however, it will sort of lurch or hickup with the throttle wide open cruising. At times, this will trip the check engine light. I have read the codes manually and I am getting 2:
25 Mixture control -continuously lean Wiring, injector, H02S, ECTNAF sensor, intake/fue/lignition system, ECM
26 Mixture control -continuously rich Wiring, injector, fuel system, cold start injector, H02S, VAF sensor, ECM
Now, for about two weeks the light has not come back on but still have the same issues driving, except recently every so often it will stall out while idling and at times while I am driving on the highway (freaks me out).
Any suggestions of where I can start? Originally thought O2 sensor or TPS.
-Trevor

I have a 1988 4runner and it pops out of first gear, any idea how to fix this, I bought a new shift lever bushing but have not installed it yet, I plan on doing it this weekend, if that does not solve the problem what are the steps I should take to fixing it?

Hi all, I am new here. I was not sure where to ask this but;
I need to put a new engine in my 87 4runner. I have been looking around and I have found a Turbo 22re, I would like to put it in, but I wasnt sure what else I would have to replace in order to do this. The 4runner is all primarily stock. Has had some work done, but very little changes.
Thanks for any help and or adviuce

Replacing engine, need advice
I am new here and I am needing some advice.
I have an 87 4runner, I have had it for a while, and have been nursing engines, and am ready to just get a new one. I want to put in a turbo, but I am not sure how much other work I will have to do to make this happen. It is pretty much a stock 22re.
Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I just bought a 92 4runner with a slow rear window. Does not like to go up or down without help. I know that this is a pretty common problem and was wondering if you guys know how to replace the rear window motors or gears. Pics and/or videos appreciated!

Does anyone have a link to the later ('87) 1st gen wiring manual? I looked through this and a couple of other threads and unless I missed it, it's not out there.
