Tune Up Shopping List

So I will be picking up my new 88 4runner in a few weeks ( I have to move across country and unpack first) and I want to give it a nice tune up and maybe it will help solve what ever the problem seems to be with this truck. I want to let some sea foam go through the system, then change oil, transmission fluid, front and rear diff fluids, spark plugs, coolant, and anything else you guys think I should replace. I'm trying to figure out, from everyones experiences what to get and what to stay away from.

My question is what brand fluids are best for 4runners/ 3.0 engine?

What is the best weight for each fluid?

I have worked on cars and trucks before (chevy cars and trucks) just never a 4runner or Toyotas and never for the soul purpose of off-road use.

Any help would be great, I'm putting together a list of parts and fluids so I can go shopping and get it all. Sorry if this sounds stupid but I just want to get it right the first time and not find things out the hard-way. From what I have read these engines can be tricky. Thanks for your help.

Sea Foam through the main vacuum line, fuel tank, and crankcase.

Then change the oil & filter.

NGK plugs
wires
distributor cap & rotor
fuel filter
air filter
PCV valve (good luck with installation)

manual transmission: Red Line GL-4 75W-90
transfer case: Red Line GL-4 or Valvoline GL-5 75W-90
differentials: Valvoline GL-5 80W-90
Castrol DOT 3 (brakes and clutch)
Red Line Power Steering Fluid
50/50 coolant

oil brand you prefer ... heavier oil for old engines (10W-40 or 20W-50)
Toyota 90915-YZZD3 oil filter

K&N air filter and a scented tree. Maybe a matchbook or two to silence rattles

About how much of fluid do you need for transfer case, differentials, and transmission?

Red Line GL-4 is synthetic (about $13 per quart)

manual transmission -- 3.5 qts.
transfer case -- 1.5 qts.
front diff -- 2.0 qts
rear diff -- 2.5 qts

The list I gave you is the list I just did last week.

Replace the O2 sensor if you feel like it I guess.

This thread is well timed, just picked up my new '89 today. Is the PCV valve that little doohickey on the left rear of the engine, kind of mushroom shaped with a couple of hoses coming out of it?
