The red cable coming from the head unit is the plug I made for the parking brake. ptam bought the actual wire harness from Eclipse for $12. Correct me if Im wrong Ptam... thanx!

Hope you enjoy the unit!!

Actually the $12 harness I bought was for the VTR input, so I use that as an aux in to plug in my MP3 player.

I used the wires that you provided for parking brake, vss, and reverse signal.

I also installed the BTE-600 bluetooth adapter, works great!

Major "props" to 4runner19

Received my unit today-as described. Very easy install on the 3rd gen's. I am a stereo install rookie and had it operating in under an hour! Thanks 4Runner19. This AVN6620 unit is great.

Do these units have bluetooth built in? Handsfree is kindof a must for me.

They do not, but there's a kit for it:

Amazon.com: Eclipse BTE600 Bluetooth Interface Add hands-free calling to Eclipse AVN6620 receiver: Electronics

No, but Eclipse has had a newer version of this navigation system out for nearly a year that does have built-in bluetooth for your cell phone.

Do you have any of these left?

[QUOTE=4runner19;512553]Feeling this out and see if anyone is interested... Please read entire post. Price includes shipping to anywhere in the continental US. If you pick up in person, I will take $25 off.

I found a company that deals with salvage units. This particular company bought out all of Circuit City's old stock and display units. They have in possession a lot of Eclipse AVN6620 display units. All these units still have factory plastic over the screen. They are basically brand new. The only thing wrong with them is that all the accessories are missing. I bought one for myself to install in my car and because it plugs directly into a factory toyota wiring, the missing accessories werent that big of a deal to me. I unplugged my old head unit and plugged this one in using the factory plugs.

The power wires and speaker wires plugged right in using the stock harness. This unit will work with factory steering wheel controls but these units do not come with the plug to have the steering wheel controls work so what I did was hard wired the connectors and added wire taps on the ends to connect to your steering wheel cable located behind the radio. I also hard wired the park wire to the ground of the car to get access to the dvd and navigation while in motion.

Now what I am offering is the AVN6620 unit. I will connect all the necessary cables to the back of the unit and put wire taps on the ends of the wires so you can easily tap into the correct wires. I will include detailed instructions including pictures of exactly where to connect the wires. There are only 3 hardwired wires. The main wire harnesses are the 2 that come factory in your car. You plug that right into this unit. I will also include a copy of the 2009 map disc.

I am looking at $350 for this unit which include all the instructions. I will also include a brand new sealed orignal Eclipse GPS antenna. I have to buy these brand new since I cant make these myself. These are original Eclipse which sell on ebay for around $65.

If you live near Southern California, I can help you install this unit. It takes about 30 mins to do since there are no splicing required. Again, your factory wires plug directly into this unit. The only hard wired wires are the 3 steering wheel control wires and 1 parking wire. The hardest part is running the gps antenna cable across your dash.

Please either PM me or respond to this thread so I can see if anyone is interested before I buy some of these units. Below are some pictures of the unit installed in my 2004 T4R SE V8.

I am interested in one of these. Do you have any left. Thank you

I'm getting read to install this in my 2009 base 4runner. It has the standard toyota aux input, not the optional ipod input. Does anyone know if I need to do anything special to get it to work with the headunit?

Exclamation Regarding VTR harness for MP3 player

Anyone know the part number or where to get the vtr harness that plugs into this? Seems to be the only way to run non-apple products though the unit.
Anyone?
Thanks.
