Wow, that's kinda high. I bought my '06 Sport Edition V8 4X4 with 24k miles 2 years ago for $21k. But then again that was in AL and they go for more other places.

"there is an azz for every seat" ; )

ive seeing dealers list them at 24-28k....figured Id give it a try at 22.5k and see if i get any nibbles.

i think gas was a lot more expensive in 2008 and that definitely has an effect on sales of SUVs. wholesale on mine at the time was at 14.5 and now its 19.8. 22.5 is kbb private party sale figures.

its a second car for me and i wouldnt mind keeping it, but if I can get all the money, ill gladly sell it.

Oh wow really? Hhaha, yea that's true somebody will pay for it. I think in Dallas they probably bring more also. That's great for us that the '08s went up in price and brought ours up with it! There were a lot of 4R's that were built in '06, around 102,000 I think; and it significantly dropped from that in 08. So I got a deal? That's great to hear, I wasn't trying to be an a** or anything before btw. Good luck with the sale, hope you get what your asking!

Original owner and all service records? Sorr, but that's not high. Plus 4Runners don't lose a ton of value from year to year. Where did yours come from? If it was from an auction or a mystery vehicle on a dealer's lot then you probably got a bit of a different price. People claim dealerships can charge more (and you will see that in their pricing and in the way prices are set up in the "books"), but to most knowledgeable car buyers, a one owner/original owner vehicle with all service records and it being well maintained will ALWAYS carry a premium over the mystery stuff you find on lots.

Vehicle price are based on many factors, and to most buyers, one coming from a known source with all records is more desirable than coming from a possible fleet vehicle or multi-owner vehicle. Especially if there was ANY chance that it was a former rental. The saying "drive it like a rental" is common for a reason.

I put my 2007 with 33,000 miles on the market for $25,900 a few weeks ago and had somewhere in the range of 10 seriously interested calls within the first 2 hours. I had one guy with cash in hand ready to buy it, but I ultimately pulled it off the market because of some weird financial mess we're in and I probably don't want to take on another car loan after it sells (if I even could).

Of course it may be because in Utah 4Runners/Landcruisers/Pathfinders/Xterras/Jeeps are almost a necessity in some places it seems. I think this is a good price for this vehicle.

Just to make this unnecessarily long post even longer... I know a guy that deals in 4Runners exclusively for the simple fact that he did a college business class analysis for an entire semester on vehicles that are the best to own for value in a ton of different areas, and his research showed that buying a 4Runner that was about 2-3 years old was the absolute wisest vehicle to buy of all vehicles that are sold in America, and that includes cars. It was pretty interesting when he showed me his spreadsheet data. The 4Runner blew everything else away, even when he changed parameters like buying brand new, or buying 5-7 years old, it still was a winner by a significant margin.

Best of luck on the sale.

why are you afraid to drive the 4R. Im sure its safer than what your driving in now.

Very jealous of your leather, is that a dealer installed option?

i think the leather was installed predealer at gulf states toyota.

not afraid to drive the 4runner...its great...but whenever i buy a new car, I hate adding miles to it. i know, its stupid. i buy a used car(like the commuter) and i really dont care about miles.

I went through this same thing with an FJ Trail Teams. I bought it and put only 5,000 miles on it. I'd go almost nowhere because I hated putting miles on it. Finally I did what you're doing and sold it.

Now I just feel this empty pit in my stomach each day because I don't have it. It literally makes me feel ill and at times almost despondent. I had one of 3200 of those that will ever be made in the world and I never wanted to drive it because I wanted to keep it nice and it ultimately made me end up selling it. Now I just feel like jumping off of a cliff over the whole ordeal. I should have kept it and driven it every single day and loved every minute of it like it was made for. Instead I fouled it all up and can barely stand looking at myself over it. It's that bad. Seriously.

For those interested in current market for these runners, I ended up getting $21,500 for the vehicle.

Wow, making me feel great about the 2009 I got with 26k miles for under $21k. CPO warranty to 100,000 miles, too! Given, it's a base and not nearly as nice as yours

I know a guy who went through the same thing with a Supra Turbo. It was his dream car and he didn't want to put miles on it, so it just sat in his garage. Eventually he sold it because he couldn't stand it anymore. Now he wishes he had never sold it.

People are funny sometimes. I say buy a car and drive it. Enjoy it. Use it. Keep at as nice as you can and use it all the time.
