30 pages of spam smut

In the rock climbing thread in Off Topic. I'd like to read the real T4r climbers' posts, but I'm afraid the smut is going to set off alarms in IT. I'm new, so maybe it's out of line, but any chance those posts can be deleted?

Thanks,

K

I've used the "report" button on them several times. No change that I can see.

I reported it as well. It sucks because there was some really good content about ethics in it from me and a few other "older" climbers. It seems the mods are not modding.

@alirawk (the OP) sent me a PM a few days ago to let me know he closed the thread to stop the bullshit. At some point another one should get started and maybe we can copy/paste/ the useful content over.

@Hepar @txclimber

What do you guys think? Open a new one? Wait for the "mods" to actually do something?

It sucks because the spam bots can ruin a perfectly interesting thread once they get their foot in the door. Combine that with the AI bots talking to one another and what a waste. I think all AI should be programmed with code that allows it to be directed to a certain area where they can talk among themselves... kind of like "squirrel!!!! go fetch" code that could be written into the forum that sent them to a hilarious thread of AI bots telling each other about random dating advice.

The it department guys can delete or block all those profiles and scrub their content. Hell they monitor all of my Web activity even when I am using my personal devices at work because I am using work wifi. I get a report every month where I see all my activity 100% accurate.

I'm good either way. I'm surprised this mess hasn't been cleaned up yet. If you start a new thread, link me in.

I'm heading out to the desert next week. Got 6 days of crack climbing ahead of me. Get a new thread going and I'll jump start it with some fresh pics.

Honestly, it doesn't really make a difference to me. I've pretty much stopped coming here because of that issue.

Thread was finally locked, so I say start another one.

We have the tools, we have the means, we shall rebuild.
