Taco vs 4Runner

So I have a 04 4runner and I am in the process of getting something new. I am looking at getting either an 08 4runner or an 04 taco. I need help. I am trying to decide what will be better as well as what will fit me more. I have three dogs, I do everything outdoors from biking to kyaking to hiking to going to the lake. Anyone have any thoughts between which one is a better truck??

Just curious, why replace your '04 at all?

with 3 dogs and going kayaking, biking, etc... you might be better off with a tundra.

When you say 3 dogs, do you mean ankle bitters or a real dog? I have 2 large dogs and I think the 4runner works out better for me than the tacoma would have. But if I had 3 large dogs, then I would have to back up alaskaman here and say the sequoia.

I love mt 4runner but I have fancied the tacoma as well. Why would you be buying an 08 runner but only an 04 tacoma? The Tacomas have come a long way.

I have to chime on on the "ankle biter" remark. I have 3 dogs, a Pug, a Shit Tsu and a combination of the two. They are all the best companions anyone could ask for. The pug has us laughing every day. Its not always the size of the dog, its the companionship. BUT THAT BEING SAID, I am just breaking chops. I love all dogs, small medium and large. I have always had dogs. When my wife and I got together 5 years ago she had the pug and I had the shit tsu - they had 5 puppies LOLOL..

Be safe out there........

I was actually wondering how long it would take someone to comment on that. My best friend drives a Jeep and also owns a chuawa (I know it is spelled wrong) and I always give him a hard time. My largest weimeriner is his chuawa's boyfriend. They are really cute together. I didn't mean it to be mean though.

Hey AK can you post some pics of your puppies. I too have a shi-tsu and would love to see pictures of a pug/shi-tsu mix.

well just to clear some things up, my 04 runner is a lease and it is up so I want to stick with the toyota because I love mine now. I am looking at getting both new 08's in either the 4runner or the taco. I am only 5'2 so as for the tundra yeah, way to big for me. I drove a friend of mines and really felt like I needed a phone book to see over the wheel. Same with the sequoia. As for the dogs, I have a black lab, a german shep mix and a belgium malinois mix, its pretty much a smaller shepard. So I would say two med dogs and one fatty aka 65 lbs lab. The thing with my runner is the fact that my shortness would have a ***** of a time with a kayak on top and only one would fit out of the back, which I would have two yaks to put up, mine and my roommates. And yes she could help me lift it on top but she is even smaller then me, so...... I am trying to decided. Anyone know what one would have a better value after a few years?

Well considering the 08 is the same as the 04, I would try on the tacoma for size and see how it feels, I like them myself. I have a utility trailer so I have no "need" for a pickup, but I wouls still consider it one day. I think the tacoma is a nice machine and just like the runner you have many trim levels to choose from.....That said you have the option of getting a newer runner or a new tacoma.....

The 4Runners re-sale value is superior.
