Yup, you did not read it wrong and I don't have a typo in my title either.
Went in last week to get oil changed (which I've done it a couple of times at their place) and over $150 was the price quoted.
Was sort of shocked and questioned about when did they hike the price by 3X cause it was about $50 before (which in itself is quite high already) and that guy apparently thought (or imagined) for a while and said '8 month' ago and would not stop lying when I showed him my previous oil change bill (6 month ago) from them showing a price that has not hiked. Guy also acted like he could care less and having too many customers and is doing me a huge favor to charge me only $150 for oil change all along the way. Asked to speak to manager, of course, manager is not available when there's a problem and a customer needs to speak with him, or at least I was told so by the scamming advisor
Would rather pay some other places $150 for oil change rather than having to work with outright liars at Toyota of Sunnyvale, but as it turned out, the other shop around treated customer with far more respect and also charged a price in line with expectation.
Would avoid the lairs even if they pay me to do a service (Judging by the interactions, that guy would have no problem at all to do nothing on the car but tell you 'it's all done').
