Been there, did that.
You could file a claim with the usps but, they will most likely say the box wasn't packed right (no packing filler in the box) and might deny the claim.
Your best bet is to make toyotapartsdeal resend the caps.
It's just sad how the Hawaii shipping companies treats the customers packages.

I plan on calling TPD tomorrow to see what痴 going on with my claim. I値l be nice for now. If they start back pedaling, I値l call my credit card company and get a refund that way.

They are also helpful over the phone. If you have questions about a part you need, call and ask for Jorge. He actually introduces himself as George over the phone. Jorge handles the online sales.

I used to use Camelback, but the shipping times to the East coast are brutal, unless you pay for air. I switched to Toyota, Scion, Honda, Nissan and Hyundai Parts | parts.conicellitoyotaofconshohocken.com which is Conicelli Toyota of Conshohocken PA. The url is "partznet.com." They will match Camelback including shipping and sometimes are cheaper right off the bat. Packing is good enough I have yet to request a return, but I'd bet they would do that well, too.

If you are on the East Coast, give them a try.

P.S. Maybe Jorge is Brazilian. In Portuguese, Jorge is pronounced "George."

Just got off the phone with a Jose from their returns department. Jose was very profesional and was the FIRST and ONLY person that apologized about the issue.
He is emailing me a FedEx return label and will be getting me the replacement parts as soon as the tracking number shows the package is in transit.

I asked if they use one vendor/dealer for Toyota parts. He said that they use multiple dealers and it depends where the order is being shipped.
I told him that multiple people on Toyota forums were complaining about poor packing and damaged parts and maybe they should drop that particular vendor or get the issue resolved since it's their name thats being tarnished.

Oh well, I'll never order from TPD again. The $30.00 wasn't worth the time or hassle.

Seems like they made it right for you in the end. I happen to have a very good relationship with my local dealer, and through my wholesale account I get better than internet pricing on everything, otherwise I would probably order from these guys after hearing how they took care of the problem.

Moving to a more appropriate section where more people may benefit.

I received the replacement parts yesterday. There was some packing material in the box, but still not enough to keep heavy ball joints from moving around and damaging the center caps!
I am now in the process or getting a refund. I've wasted enough time with them!

Box again damaged from the ball joints moving around.

Box as I unpacked it.

Damaged parts!

I love TPD's catalog though.
If they are sourcing from different dealers, and different dealers are using multiple part pickers, there is always a chance of getting someone who doesnt care or have the sense to ship something correctly.

Why did you send the ball joints back? From what I read they were not damaged. I would of just sent the center caps back and they wouldn’t of been damanged. Not trying to be an ass. Was just curious.

lol...damn it. I just ordered a color matched grille from them part# 53100-35A03-A0.

camelback is cheaper too, but its in Pennsylvania.

USPS tracking and parcel delivery is hit or miss and lately more of miss. USPS couldn't even retape the damaged box that's clearly busted open jeez.

If toyotapartsdeal.com is too cheap to spend on bubble wrap they could've at least wrapped each part individually in newspaper and folded small pieces of cardboard between the parts so they don't rattle in the box.

So my factory grille arrived on Saturday via FedEx. I took 5 days from El Cajon to San Leandro. At least the shipping was within California, but the box was busted. As in the ends were crushed and already halfway open. Clearly it was thrown and heavier parcels must have rested on top of it. Fearing the worst the actually packaging was nothing more than a long piece of cardboard and wrapped what looked like butcher paper lol. No bubble wrap, nothing to cushion the part, and definitely nothing to preventing it from sliding inside the box.

Good news is that the grille was intact. No chips, cracks, or damage. If the shipping was longer say from the Mid-West or East coast I doubt the part would survive.

But seriously, for the money spent of factory parts this should not be protocol.

Anyhow, that's my (first and last) experience with toyotapartsdeal.com

Cool Toyotapartsdeal.com FYI

Just adding a little fyi so you can learn from my mistake.
I failed to read the return policy of Toyotapartsdeal.com and needed to request an RMA. The request was denied because each part I was returning was less than 8 dollars each, clearly posted in their return policy.
I ordered 4 wiper refills all different part numbers at about 6 dollars each. Two needed to be returned, and I knew that after 20% restocking fee and my expense of shipping that I would not get much refund but also why waste the parts.
I order my Toyota parts from various sources over the years and decided to look back at the return policy of some and also found return thresholds from 8 to 10 dollars for each part. This may be a new policy in recent year and so learn from my oversite, Read The Return Policy before ordering.
I will likely go back to ordering parts from Amazon when available since return policy is not the same.

On another note, see photo below, 2 in maybe OEM bags, 1 in a shipping label envelope and 1 just loose in box. Obviously one would not be returned on OEM unopened package per return policy.
