Thumbs down Daytona Toyota (Daytona Beach, FL) (Good deal??)

Bought a 2005 4Runner Sport V8 w/ 10spk/6CD JBL, Spoiler, cargo and floor mats for $27,500....


I am not going to complain about the normal hassle of having to threaten to walk out of the dealership a dozen times as they try to get more money out of me or refuse a deal that we had already agreed on --- because, lets face it, that is just plain part of buying a vehicle these days.


What I am going to complain about is their financing and tag departments. I purchased the vehicle on the 25th of June. I have yet to receive my tag (still using a temp ... which expires in a few days). The dealership admitted to being "backed up" in getting the new tag orders out... but they assured me that I would get my new tag on time. I really don't see that happening.

The REAL nightmare was with the financing department. They didn't get my financing information filed until two days ago! It has been over three weeks since I purchased my vehicle. I havn't received my coupon book or any other information on my loan (like where to send the payment that is due in two days). I called the bank that the loan was through and up until yesturday at 3pm, they had never even heard of me. So --- I have them pull up my file and EVERYTHING is wrong on it. They have the wrong monthly payment, wrong loan amount, wrong phone number, wrong address ...... and it wasn't the banks fault. It looked like the dealership has actually sent all the wrong info. Keep in mind that I called the financing department a dozen times in the last two weeks (never got a live person --- had to leave messages which were NEVER returned until just a day ago).


So --- my rating for this dealership is as follows. Everything went exactly as I had expected a dealership experience to go when I was purchasing the vehicle. They, of course, were more than happy to sell the vehicle and promise me that everything was going to go smoothly. Of course, once you walk out the door --- they don't care anymore. They don't have reason to return your calls, they don't have reason to make sure paperwork is filled on time or correctly. Once they have your money, they win.


By the way ---- do you think I got a good deal on it or not?
