Thumbs up Good Prices

I am new to the forum and have been shopping for about 2 months for a Titanium 4Runner LTD without a moon roof without any luck but the best prices on the eastern U.S. seem to be at Car Max in Baltimore or Chicago areas. Check out carmax.com and new cars.

Just about any dealer will beat the Carmax price. My brother bought his Tundra for a few hundred less from a local dealer. Plus the dealer got the exact truck he wanted, delivered from Roanoke, VA. The dealer even removed and credited him for the bedliner, got him the floor mats and door sill protectors he wanted.

Take the Carmax price to a few dealers. Let them know you are serious.

However, Carmax is a good reference for local market vaule.

Buying from an individual

It has been my experience that you will get a better deal, lower price, if you buy from an individual, if you are looking for a used vehicle, yet there might be some undisclosed problems with the vehicle, so I'd only do this if the vehicle still has some factory warranty. If you buy from a place that sells cars, dealer, used car place, etc. you are going to pay a mark-up. I spent 3 months looking for my rig before I found it. I knew what I wanted, what the vehilce was worth and what I would pay. Walked in, told the used car guy that, and left with my 4Runner. If I could have found the same ride from an individual, I would have purchased it from them first.
