Kimda what im thinking also. I know there's 2% hold back i know fees can be erased and that right there is $1500 roughly and thats before asking for $1000 off invoice. Thats my goal $34k for a 2016 sr5 no options. 4x4 for 34k

The Dallas area dealers really tick me off. I wanted KDSS and they told me "special order at full MSRP". I didn't enjoy being forced to travel to Colorado to get a good deal on a T4R with KDSS.

This is great! I think there are just as many shady balls out there as reputable dealers in the used car world...It is important to really take your time and inspect what you are buying.

My brother was a car dealer as well and he tells me that the best way to buy a car is go in there with a a bunch of research on the car, and know the msrp, tell them that you are not here to mess around and have the full intention of buying the car if they agree on Selling the car for the msrp (obviously plus dealer handling etc) and leave if they dont give you that price.

Exclamation Wanting to purchase a trd in December

Hay y’all, I’m looking into getting a trd this December. My first vehicle was a 4Runner and I absolutely loved it. With that being said I don’t want to spend over 30k on a 2018 TRD . Is this a insane number? I’m willing to wait until the last 2 weeks of December when the dealer really needs to make sales. I would love to get some feedback and some tips on how to get the vehicle I want at the price I need.

Yes, it's insane if you're looking for a TRD PRO. Completely insane. Even used ones are going for over $40K locally.

I've found that dealing with fleet or internet sales departments are the way to go. Since they need to do volume, they are less likely to play games negotiating. Get your own financing through a local credit union too since the finance are just salesmen too.

You can get a TRD for about 10K less than mod it to look almost identical to a Pro

This is a sub standard tactic. I bought a 19 trd a month ago for 6k below msrp. Gold standard is sending a mass email to all dealers within driving distance detailing exactly what you want and essentially telling them to 'reply all' with their bid. Take it from there and play them against each other walking from one dealership to the next until you get your price.
