Kliv's VSC off mod for V8s too!
Kliv's mod has finally been tested on a V8. It works great, wasn't that hard to install and best part of all, no false indications on the dashboard. It took me the better part of 4hrs to install (Instructions can be found here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/perfor...-v6-1gr-2.html ) , altho I soldered and heat shrunk all my connections and I tend to be alittle slower at mods that involve wiring...I like to triple check everything to make sure nothing starts smoking . One thing I recommend is pulling your horn fuse if you dont want to piss off your neighbors...I accidently hit the horn prob 20 times during this mod lol.
I wrapped it in foam to prevent rattles
I installed it with this button for now but I do plan on getting an FJ button for it. Oh and I installed the LED for the hell of it, not neccesary but it looks cool

Nice install! I think that I'm going to order this in January!

You won't regret it. I can't wait for it to snow again so I can enjoy it. Unfortunately as soon as I install it we got a few days nice weather and all the snow melted lol.

Update
So I treated myself to a switch. I used an FJ traction control switch (Part #:84988-35070) as recommend by Kliv in his install instructions. Connector for switch was not needed because it comes it the V8's already
Weather was cold but I was too excited
Switch
Love the stock look, worth every penny.

I'm gonna revive this thread for a minute to ask a simple question: does the VSC just cut engine power or does it also apply the brakes? I'm not a fan of stability/traction control in any vehicle that doesn't have overkill power/torque, but I can live with engine suppression, not applying brakes when I didn't touch the pedal.
I'll definitely consider trying this mod if the VSC uses brakes too, I don't want my car using the brakes if I don't do it myself.
