Volume Control Erratic

I have a 05 4Runner volume control on the stereo that goes haywire when I turn the knob. Anyone ever replace the volume control switch? Thanks.

I have never repaired one but it can be fixed, there's a company in Mesa AZ that can fix it. Look up a local car audio shop and see if they they have a repair guy.

Interesting ... I'm actually having the same problem with both my '02 4Runner and my '04 Sequoia. Has anyone actually had this repaired and how much did it cost?

make sure on the head unit itself, turn off the ASL feature.

Sorry, I'm not an audio guy ... I'm sure I'll feel stupid when you explain this, but I don't know what you're talking about. Can you explain?

u got to go in the menu, where the bass and treble and fader, look for a ASL, some have them, just turn that off, all it does, it will make it sound louder on noisy enviorment.

^^ that's not going to cause this problem it's actually the contacts in the knob going bad. I personally would just put in an aftermarket deck it it might cost more then getting it fix but your less likely to have problems like this with a reputable brand.
