Yes, you must order by part number... their online catalog hasn't been updated as the filter was just released on Oct 13th.
Bryan,
Thanks for the order. Yes, this is the correct filter part number for your 4 Runner. I would expect your filter to ship either Friday or Monday from California. It will come directly from K&N in California as we are waiting for our shipment to arrive.

K&N Filter Received/Installed on 10/23
Martel Bros delivered as promised... My filter was shipped directly from K&N and arrived yesterday afternoon. You'll notice that the K&N is about 1/3 "thinner" than the stock OEM Toyota filter, likely to increase airflow, while still adequately filtering incoming airflow. Since the stock tube is pulling cold air from outside the engine compartment, I doubt an intake kit would gain much over this drop in filter. Comments on this?
I disconnected the negative battery terminal before I installed it, so the ECU would be reset. You can hear a slight difference in the intake, more so on hard accelleration. It'll take a bit to see if I notice any noticible performance gains.. but hey, if my fuel economy goes up one or two mpg, and I don't have to clean this thing for 30K mi or so, it was worth the $40.

The black cable on the battery (also marked -) is the negative terminal (you'll also see a cable attached to it that runs to the body) I disconnected before I started -- I'm guessing good rule of thumb is leave it disconnected at least 15 minutes.
Yes, you'll lose your radio presets... and you'll also have to reset your driver side "auto down" window. You'll notice the backlighing in the button flashing when power is restored. Just lower the window halfway then raise it back up and hold the power window button in the up position for a few seconds and release. The autodown function should resume. (per the owners manual)

you could pull either cable and that would reset the computer but the rule is to take off the ground first to avoid sparks.
Resetting the ecu gives it a chance to relearn what it has like air flow. I don't know if it really works for just an air filter because its not that big of a change to the system not like changing a cam or heads.
