Scion HU w/ Factory XM and iPod??

I recently installed the US Spec iPod interface (crutchfield) and now have a clarity/volume issue with my factory XM? The XM still plays, but is very muffled. The interface comes with 2 harnesses that plug together and then into the cd changer port on the backside of the HU. I have the XM plugged into the passthru port on the new harness. Has anyone attempted this set up or done something similar? Can anyone help me figure this out?

I do not have a direct answer to your question, but I have seen a thread here describing the installation of the Scion XM receiver (I am assuming this is what you have, the "factory XM") that shows a changer port on the XM receiver where the USA Spec harness can plug into to. Have you tried this connection?

I am researching this topic currently: use of USA Spec DF-TOY on Scion 6-disc head unit with Scion XM receiver. Crutchfield tech says the DF-TOY will work when connected to the port on the XM receiver. I have emailed USA Spec about this connection point for the DF-TOY and waiting on reply. I will let you know their comments when I get them. You might want to contact them with your particular situation and see what they say. If you do I would like to know what they say as I am trying to learn how and if all these components can work together.

Thank you

I appreciate the leg work you've done...I will also contact USA Spec and try to connect to the XM directly, but I'm pretty sure I tried it. I'll try it again and try and get some feedback.
