Redesigned Scion Headunit

Does anyone know much about the new Pioneer headunits for the '06 Scion TC's? Apparently the standard unit has a rotary volume control knob and a mini jack to plug in your ipod, but the jack is in the center console of the car. The optional upgraded headunit has 3 rotary knobs and you can actually icontrol the ipod from the receiver. It also displays album info on the unit's display.

I'd like to know if you can swap these new units with our stock stereos, just like the previous model Scion receivers. I'm particualrly interested in the ipod capability but I wonder if the ipod plug is integrated into the TC somehow or otherwise non-interchangable with any other vehicle.

Wow, that's something I'd like more information on also. ipod functionality would be sweet, and yet still have a stock look.. hmm.. conflicting thoughts, conflicting thoughts..

That blue color wouldn't go very well the orange color of the clock and other readouts.

The deck is color adjustable so you can change it to the stock amber color.

Scion Life Link to Compatibility of 06' Pioneer to previous 03-05 model HU's

taken from a different thread...

"BTW, the iPod is still the only MP3 player with a controller/connector like that, allowing you to operate it and power it using the HU (the 06 Scion HU will even display the song titles). If you're trying to choose which MP3 player to buy, keep that in mind. "

I don't think I want to lose my steering wheel controls. And also, from what the link says, you can't use the ipod feature. Or did I read that wrong? I'm also thinking about switching my HU for the scion HU. If I can use the ipod feature, then this is the one I want. If not I'll just settle for the older scion HU.
