Navigation for Europe ??
Hi,

we are being transfered to Germany, will there be a DVD for the naivgation system for Europe?
Someone told me, there is a DVD for the European Landcuiser models available, but did not know if it would work on our 05 4-Runner.

Anybody out there ... ?

Yes
You will be able to get everything here just like there, you'll just have to order from there. The roads don't change much over here like in the States, you could probably get a map from 1970 and it would still pretty much be the same roads over here. I'm at Ramstein, live pretty close to Baumholder, where are you headed?

Let me know, we have a couple of members in Spangdahlem as well.

bTW, you do get GPS reception here as well, I was under the impressiton that it wasn't availiable, but it's free to the world, you just need something to jack into it with.

Thanks for information,

so I go to a Toyota dealership in Germany and buy a German Toyota DVD and the navigation system works?

About Ramstein, we will be close to it for a week or so, then heading to the Netherlands border, Geilenkirchen; (AWACS)

Not too sure about the exact schedule - is there a dealership at Ramstein or close to it, as I understand there are a lot of military bases around this area.

Any recommendations?

GK, was my first choice but I was happy to get out of Space Command and try something new. As for being able to buy the disk over here I'm sure you can, but it might not be the language you want, I would look into buying it over there before you come.

Yes there's a Toyota dealership over here, i'll be visiting it tomorrow to get my recall parts ordered or schedule the Runner for the installation? I'll checkon the nav disk when I go.

Your going to love GK, but you will experience the culture because it is a small base.
