Yeah, I think the flash in that picture made it a bad one for comparison. I guess the only thing I know for a fact is that the LT tires have 2/32 more tread depth. Beyond that, they might be identical for all I can tell based on what people are saying.

I am about to get a set of these as well in the LT285/70R17 flavor so I emailed Toyo about the P vs LT vs Xtreme. They sent me a list of the sizes of each design as well as this picture showing the differences between them.

That's the best comparison photo I've seen. It really does make the LT and XT look a lot more aggressive. I wonder if there is additional loss of mpg with the LT or XT. I lost 1-2mpg upgrading from Michelin Cross Terrains to the P-Rated OC's. Luckily, I didn't buy the 4Runner for mpg. I'm still very happy with my choice.

The Xrtemes do look way better than the others but unfortunately the smallest size they make them for a 17" rim is 285/75R17 which is a bit too large for my rig. I don't get why Toyo didn't make all the sizes like the Xtremes since they look so much better.

NoMoreJeep, thanks for sharing that chart that Toyo sent you! Very informative in a thread like this for prospective tire buyers.

Here's a couple better pictures on my rig. LT265/75R16, load range C.

All I can say is that they are exactly the same size at my sisters LT265/75R16 Goodyear Duratracs. I haven't measured mine. I can though, and I'll post it.

so far i'm really happy with them. i've only driven them on pavement but they're great in the rain so far, and very quiet. i think they make less noise than the road tires they replaced. i hope they kick ass on the snow like everyone says they do. i really dont do any off roading.

Stanley,
Time to get on the Toyo train. Quit debating and make it happen! You won't be disappointed!

Well, if their deep mud performance is any indication how they do in snow, I know you'll be pleased. I went out and tried to get stuck, but couldn't! I'm sure you'll be happy with them.
