3rd gen flip screen deck problem PLEASE HELP

Hello!

I have a 1997 4runner Limited and recently installed a Soundstream 7" flip screen deck.

When I open the flip screen, the top of the screen hits the dash and immediately closes. I've adjusted the flip screen settings on the deck as far as possible, but there is still not enough clearance to allow the screen to stay open. The screen will not stay up.

I'm thinking that if there is some sort mounting kit that will allow the deck to be mounted about 1/2" (or slightly more) out from the original deck location, that will solve my problem.

Can anyone provide me with a solution to my problem?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and have a GREAT holiday season!

Funny thing about this whole ordeal is that I paid money to have a shop install the unit and this is the way they mounted it. And, they say there is nothing they can do to make it work properly. I'm thinking they're full of BS! Needless to say, they won't be getting any more of my business

You PAID them to not install it right?

Go back, tell them to fix it, make it work, or bash their name all over the net and newspaper.

They're the experienced ones in this situation. MAKE them do it.

Horrible business practice to at least not tell you they can't get it to work, and not give you another option.

I'd be havin a field day with them.
