Unhappy DRL and Automatic headlights on/off

Gang,
Need your help. I have a 2005 T4R SE and I'm disappointed that I don't have DRL and automatic on/off lights.
Can you tell me what parts do I need to get these two features? I've seen threads on this but, they're confusing. Also, if u have instructions would be awesome. I consider myself handy and can spend a Saturday doing the mods.
Cheers,

KingKong

The only 4Runner's that have automatic on lights are the Limiteds. It doesn't matter whether you have DRL's or not. All of the 4Runner's have auto off light. Leave the headlights on and they will go off 30 seconds after you open the drivers door. Leave the parking lights on and they will go off when you open the drivers door.

To add DRL's, check out this thread: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...&highlight=DRL

Mark,

Thanks for the prompt answer. What I was looking for is automatic dawn-dusk on/off system.
I just sold my 2002 Lex IS300 and I used to leave the light switch in AUTO all the time, never mess with it.
When it was dark outside --lights will turn on automatically. When it was bright outside, light will turn off autmatically and the DRL will trun on.
I guess that I got used to the feature that now that I have the T4R I forget to turn them on when is dark and when I finally turn them on then I forget to turn them off during the day. Honestly looks goofy to drive with headlights and foglamps on during the day, specially in sunny Fl. On the other hand, looks alright just the DRL during the day.

Bottom line... can I buy the necessary parts and do the rig (DRL and auto on/off) myself in my garage?
Thanks.

Rando did this succesfully but it was not plug-n-play. And there were a couple of parts needed plus some DIY wiring.

Rando has a writeup on how he did it, search for it.

OK, did find info/write-ups on auto light on/off.
Can someone pass on the part number for the relay that I need to make the DRL work. Looks like all I need to do is replace the relay and voila, I will have DRL working. Couldn't find the part number though.
