I have a Cobra 75WX with a 4' Firestik antenna. Found most of my info on yotatech as most of the guys here don't have or use them. The 75WX is a bit pricier than others because it has everything in the hand unit. You can find the regular ones for about $50 for a good one. Antenna and mounts are ~$30.
Make sure you get the antenna tuned. Most CB shops can do it for you or you can buy a SWR meter and do it yourself if you do a little research. Most meters are under $20.

Many people in 4x4 Clubs are using CB for communication. I also found that some of them using SSB (Side Bands). They give more range compare to regular AM. As for now I found just 2 CB Radios with SSB:
- Midland 79-290
- Cobra 148 GTL
Does anyone know other models? Who else is using SSB?

Unless all your friends have SSB, it might not really be worth it unless you use it all the time on the roads as well as off road.
I don't think you'll get much responses here since there's only a few guys that really offroad and need CBs.
I've been happy with my 75WX but there's a few Cobra models (18 or 19 somethings) that lots of guys over at yotatech use and they love them.
Don't forget the antenna. It's probably more important than the radio you use. I hear Wilson makes the best. I found out AFTER I bought a Firestik .

I know it. I was using radios for 6 years in Europe, before I moved to Canada, and I know that antenna is the best amplifier you can ever get. But we use to use 400-600 channels CB with AM and FM, plus we use SSB there. Europe regulations saying that maximum output is 10W (4W in North America), but my local authorities allowed us to use amplifiers. So I had ALAN 48 Excel with EuroCB amplifier. But I couldn't find any radios like the ones we used in Europe here in North America.

I'll try to get some by tomorrow night.
The antenna is on the front bull bar and the cable is snaked thru the firewall. I left the connector on the driver's side center console and a leave the cb in the glove box when I don't use it.

Thanks Bobby,
I like your setup, especially antenna mount. I might think something like yours one because I also Have brush guard. I was thinking of getting "Little Willy" magnetic one for the beginning while I'll make permanent one.
By the way, why you didn
