Question 2000 4Runner Light and Light Bar Ideas...

Ok, so I just recently acquired this Black 2000 4Runner SR5 with a ~ 3" lift and e-locker. It has 232k miles, but runs like a new vehicle (not surprised). I like the look of it now, but I'm a person who always sees room for "improvement". I'd like to upgrade the looks with some off road lights and possibly a roof rack.

I like the look of this bull bar. I was looking at it for the Blazer I owned before this (thank God I found this!).

I was also looking at this baja light bar for the front.

Now here's the real question; has anyone ever mounted just the low profile light bar from Baja Rack? I'd like to see some pics to see how it would look with the light bar only and not the full rack and light bar setup.

Suggestions? Opinions? Feel free to post your $.02!

Also, does anyone have a template or know where to get mounts for windshield or side mirror light mounts? I know I'm reaching here, but I've seen some of the work that's been put into other 4Runners and wouldn't mind "borrowing" some of the ideas.

roof lights

i would think the mounting system would be similar to the safari snorkel mounts on the A pillar

I was thinking of a bracket possibly mounted just below the side view mirror base. I Figured as long as the bracket could match the approximate size of the mirror base I could always pilot the holes to attach it and then also route the wiring for the lights through the base and doors and it would give me a clean look. I'm starting to think I need to make friends with a CAD-savvy person that happens to have a nice CNC machine.

The more I looked at the truck too, the less I liked the idea of a front bull bar like the one I pictured. I mean, the front bumper is pretty good sized already.

I also have a few ideas for improving the interior, namely dog-proofing the cargo area by using bed liner to coat the floor and swapping the carpet on the back of the rear seats with some lined ABS sheets. Easy clean up and would lack the smell of dog like the old carpet in there!

So this is a rough idea of what I'm looking for. A bracket that will sandwich between the side mirror base and the side mirror.

I do like the idea of the ditch light mounts, but I'd like to have something almost mounted to the mirror, possibly with a handle to adjust from the driver's seat (I'm not thinking a cop spotlight per se). I was more along the line of something like the picture. I'm sure some of you can guess where this came from, but that's what I would be going for.

I found the part I'm looking for. Yodateq makes them for the FJ80's, but not for 4Runners. Still, it would be cool if somebody here could come up with the template to make them!

I'm going to see if the Yodateq brackets will work or can be modified to work. Just ordered a pair and will update my progress with pics.

Why not just use ditch light brackets? Install is super clean...
