I wouldn't worry about it. ITs just a sensor that causes the stupid light in the dash to blink if someone is sitting in that seat and not wearing a seat belt. Very simple device. My dog sets it off all the time.

This sensor does more than set the dash light off. This sensor works in combination with the seatbelt buckle sensor to fire the airbag (or not) and by how much.

I was wondering too, so I e-mailed them. The response says it has something to do with possibly taking new customers away. But since we already bought from Toyota, then no issue.
I noticed a few others are still awaiting install pics, too. Even the colors of the wires you tapped into will be helpful.

Sorry about the huge delay with the pics... I promise to have them up this week. basically the reason I have had no time to take pics is cuz my garage is full of my GF's civic interior. It flooded (up to her glove box) over new year's and I had to pull everything from the seats trunk lining and carpet. She only has liability on it. Damn, it was the biggest mess. That on top of starting classes again I have had my hands tied for the better part of Jan. .. But I will take some pics and have them up by this week...

Here are some pics... I assume this is what most you guys are requesting. The rest of the install is pretty self explanatory as you have to pull the seats, run your wires... pop out the blanks and pop in the controls.. the heater unit controllers themselves I placed under each seat and secured them with zip ties.

OK... I give up. I've searched and searched the manuals for a way to recalibrate the passengers side pressure 'sensor'. In the installation instructions, it mentions that this is possible. I'm sure the dealer would do it for $5000... but.....
I have everything installed except the wiring. When I sit on the passenger's seat.. the seat belt light will continue to blink SOMETIMES.... it depends how I am sitting. It would be nice if the air bag deploys if someone is sitting there, so I need to fix this and removing that seat heater is my LAST option.
I can't find ANY info in the repair manual about this. Only about the seat position air bag sensor. Anyone else have better luck???
Thanks!

Why don't you just pull the circuit high or low, whichever is happens when someone is sitting there. The airbag will deploy when the seatbelt sensor is activated as well.
Just a thought. That is what I would do.

swoopeno,
so are you saying that your sensor has a problem detecting wether or not someone is sitting in the seat after you installed the the heating element? That seems a bit odd as I have installed this in my old runner and newer runner and never experienced this in either of them. In fact, when I test the sensor all i do is push down on the seat itself and the light starts to blink. When my gf is in it and she doesn't buckle up that sensor is always blinking.

You guys got me second guessing myself, but I just tried it again. I also can just use my hand and press down on the seat (the back 1/2 of the seat) and the light starts blinking.
When I go to sit in it, sometimes it blinks, sometimes it doesn't. I have to be sitting straight up and putting most of my body weight onto the back of the seat. If I offset my center of gravity one way or the other, the light goes off. BTW... i'm 180lb.
I guess I don't care at all about this IF the airbag will deploy when the seat belt is attached. Can anyone verify this?
Does the airbag deploy based on the seat belt sensor or the pressure sensor or a combination of both?
Thanks again!

Did you exeperience this problem after you installed the heaters or was this even from before? If its after, maybe during the installation you kinked the ribbon cable or maybe just loosened the senor somewhere along its path. IF you were up for it, I'd take the bottom padding off and thoroughly inpect it.
As for your questions about the whole seatbelt/air bag deployemnet I cannot qoute, sorry if I couldn't be much of help. But, that is also reason to do what I mentioned above.
