I don't have a skid plate. However, I could access that bolt from under the truck. I just laid on my back and looked up, and there it was. You shouldn' t need to remove anything. I hope this helps.

I have just ordered a light bar from "stylin concepts" which is a light holder that attaches where the license plate attaches. The fog or driving lights attach there:
http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a...48/Category/25
It should save a lot of drilling. I plan on attaching a set of HID driving light to it:
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...XenarcKits.htm
Total cost will be less than $400 and it should be an easy installation. I also found the wimpy stock "foglights" worthless. I hope this mod works out. Just in case it does, I will take photos. Everyone here has been very helpful, so maybe I can contribute something. Wish me luck!

Let us know how that works out for ya. I'm not sure if the plastic bumper on the 4th gens will be able to hold up the weight of large lights. On mine, the license plate is held up by two screws. Also, I'd be hesitant to put an expensive set of lights like those on the front without any protection.

I agree. I don't have the light bar yet and will make sure it is right before i order the lights. I may even drive around with it for a while to test it. Running over $300 in lights would make for a very bad day! I'll let you know. If I'm not 100% confident I'll go with one of the "bull" bars.

Glad i could help!!
All of the bolts in our truck (in my experience) has been between a 8mm and 14mm. I think that the aiming bolt is a 8mm, but it has been a while since I did this. It is just a bolt, so no special tools are required.

8 mm socket or wrench on the bolt in the center.

Can you post some pics and tell us how esay it was to install these? I was thinking about getting them too.
I live in an area of California that gets so foggy sometimes, you can barely see the end of your hood, and your door is open so you can follow the yellow dashed line. One time I opened my drivers door and saw a solid WHITE LINE. My heart about stopped as I knew I was on the wrong side of the country road!
I honestly have never thought fog lights really helped much. Perhaps a 5%-10% increase but what kind of increase in visibility are you going to need to avoid wrecking? A lot more than 10% I'm sure. Sure, maybe the 10% will allow you to drive faster which means you'll get home about 20 seconds earlier than normal?

Did this today.. wow what a difference. I took a sharpie and marked the wheel so I would know exactly how many turns I made. Ended up with 3 complete turns of the wheel to get the right aim point... wow what a difference. Highly recommend doing this. Lo's and Fogs used to be separated on the road in front.. now its one solid wide path of light.
Also did the mode to Fog Relay to make them work with the parking lights, lo's and hi beams... but still allow the factory switch to control on/off on the stalk. Looks great at night now. Thanks guys.
