I have the scion RCA wire harness...

I recently installed the Scion HU and purchased a harness from a guy on ebay that gives two sets of RCA's one for the front and one for the rear. The harness plugs into the back of the hu so no spicing etc.

I have not actually hooked up my amp yet so don't have any info on sound quality or anything yet...i'm still waiting for the speakers I ordered..grr

My wife hates aftermarket HU's because she thinks they are too "complicated" to use but she loves the Scion deck and she loves having the MP3 discs and stearing wheel controls that still work.

with the harness, is it a hi to low converter too?? if not dont directly connect it to the amp, you will need a hi to low converter. because the output of the radio is Considered a hi output. unless the radio output is different. but this with every other factory radio.

Hmm..will have to look into that.

It has some paper work with it i will check it out, thanks for the info. I have never done amps this way, I always used decks with 3 sets of RCA outputs.

if your amp has high inputs you can do it but it doesnt sound as clean as with a high to low. i saw somewhere else on this forum a harness from a scion unit that had some heat shrink around the wires that looked like it had buit in resistors to make it low. but im not sure ill look for it today and give you and update. how much you get the hu for?? the one with 3 knob's?

I ended up getting the HU with only one knob because I don't even have an IPOD...ended up paying 90 something bucks with shipping off EBAY. I am very happy with the deck and love the MP3 discs.

Now I just can't wait to have a few days off of work so I can put the amp, speakers and sound deadener in

The wire harness did not have a high to low converter so I had to use the settings on my amp but the sound quality is definetely good so I'm happy. According to the info on the harness it does have noise reduction but did not say anything about the high/low converter. I'm just wondering why wouldl someone take the time/effort to make a harness as nice as this one and not have high/low converter built in...oh well overall I'm very very happy with this system.

Truth be told I can not here the sound quality difference with the Scion deck compared to my old Alpine double din in my old truck and I even had the same JL amp.
