Input needed! Tuning 4.7L for TRD Super charger with Unichip?

It's been a while, but some of you may remember I have a TRD Supercharger in my garage from 2003 Tacoma- brand new in the box!

I added a MAPECU and wiring kit and PLX multi-gauge. Or tried

The custom wiring harness for the MAPECU2 was miswired and fried the controller. The PLX gauge was...junk.

It all went back, no harm, no foul.

Fast forward to 2014.

As I am replacing the timing belt and a bunch of other stuff, I am revisiting the supercharger install for TOWING, which is about 10% of the time. I tow a heavy camper with lots of air resistance.

It tows fine, rides fine, etc. But it bogs down on the steep hills- the only kind we have lots of in Western PA.

So I am looking at the Unichip PnP. I want to have a daily driver with a mild setting, optimized for MPG, and an aggressive map for towing.

Apparently a FLUX addon allows a switch of maps, incar.

I see they have a 4.7L map for the Tacoma. Would that work with my 4Runner?

I have a less restrictive exhaust and 1" taller tires, but the rest is basically stock. I may consider a CAI with the S/C, but neither is on or set in stone.

Anyone have experience with these? Care to share your opinion before I drop almost a grand on the chip and flux display/controller?

I REALLY, REALLY need some tips here! I'm not a tuner, nor pretend to be

No way!!!

Update: NO WAY!!!

Let me clarify that: No Freakin' way!

I heard things (from Unichip) like 'the s/c with a 9th and 10th injector and the exhaust mod don't have any effect on the tuning' ; Our 'Stock' or 'Stock+' plug-n-play map will work just fine.

And when I asked for the specs of the 4Runner they used to make the map, it was like I was speaking Portuguese!

More info: I emailed them to get access to the database of available maps, per their website instructions, to see if they had a map close to mine. Instead I get a back and forth four times with crazy stuff like I mentioned above.

Now keep in mind, I am NOT a tuner, so for me to say someone really doesn't know their stuff takes quite and act of...let's call it un-impressiveness ;)

I thought their 5 map capable system would be nice after getting it tuned, but I don't think I want stuff made by people like that in my 4Runner.

I am not posting some stuff, as I'd rather understate the situation as my opinion and add: Buyer Beware!

Make SURE you have a map available, it matches the specs of your vehicle, and what kind of performance gains you can expect- and ask it BEFORE buying anything.

Seriously. Ask the questions. Before spending money.
