Tire Advice | Kumho | Continental | General Grabber |

I've been following this board the last couple of weeks and decided to finally post my question.

I've used the search tool and its been helpful but I'm curious to hear from some of you and your experiences with these specific tires.

My current measurements are 265/70R16 on a 2003 4Runner SR5 2WD and I'm looking into three brands but mostly interested in the first two.

The brands are:
1 - Kumho Road Venture APT (includes a $80 rebate)
2 - General Grabber HTS
3 - Continental CrossContact LX20

I found a good deal on Tirebuyer for the Generals and Kumho's. However, I'm not sure between these two which are the betters ones to go with. They both have their share of good reviews with the Grabbers being slightly better.

Can anyone share their experiences with these brands and what they feel would be the better purchase?

Some additional info; I live in Sunny South Florida where we go through some heavy rains during the summer so, I'm looking for something that handles heat and rain well.

Thank you in advance to those who participate.

Thanks for the feedback.

When it comes to reviews, it seems that everyone had different experiences with the Grabbers which is why I'm kinda leaning towards the Kumho's even though they scored a little lower than the Grabbers in consumerreport.org.

So I'm down to the Grabbers and the Kumho's just because of pricing.

Does anyone recommend the Kumho's or have any other recommendations?

hidef So did you go with the Grabbers or the Kumho's? I'm thinking about getting new tires and I been reading good things about the Kumho's

Update: I just found this YouTube video review on Kumho's tire's.

No experience with Kumho, but I had Grabber AT2s on my 2000 pathfinder. They were awesome in the snow, plowed roads or not. I will say that the truck was recalled before I was able to put significant millage on them. For the price, dollars per rated mile, they are wort the gamble.

Stop and go is a b***h on any shoes your truck wears. How balds were they when you ditched them?

They would have failed PA inspection. Which is pretty bad. Also their snow/rain grip was less than what I would have liked.
