Cooper or Michelin?

Hello,

Newbie here. The system wouldn't let me start a new thread yet, so I'm posting here.

I bought a used 2016 4Runner SR5 earlier this year with only 21,000 miles and original Dunlops. It now has 32,000 miles and I am looking to replace the tires with either the MICHELIN LTX A/T2 or the COOPER DISCOVERER AT3 4S. I like the look and price of the Coopers, but am concerned they might not be made as well and are more likely to give me shimmying headaches.

Any advice?

Thank you.

It looks like no one replied to your post. It might not be the be best thread to ask the question so if you have not already received a reply in a different thread here is my input.

Ask around and see if you can catch a ride in similar/same vehicles with those tires. People tend to like certain ride characteristics so see what you like. I have run almost all brands and I seem to moving towards Coopers. I run 4-5 full size pick ups and I get a really good combination of ride, traction and durability from the Cooper AT 3 4. My next tires will most likely be Coopers on the 4runner for the same reasons for spring/summer/fall use and dedicated snow tires for winter.

Just got a 2021 ORP and thinking of running 255/80/17 Wildpeaks on the stock OR wheels. It is completely stock. Sounds like it might not rub but hoping others can confirm.

Both should be fine especially if you get load range C. I'm considering those two for my next tire as well.

Stock 2015 Trail w/ KDSS. 255/80 WildPeaks with a slight rub on front liner at full lock; will push back liner. Will be adding OME lift, and possibly longer bump stops if that helps from stuffing them on inclines. Thoughts?

Drives straight, steering wheel wobble is gone!

Loving my skinnies so far. I use to run 255/75/17 mud-terrains from BFG, but decided to upgrade to these all-terrains for snow usage and quieter ride.
