i plugged my bumper.. what'd ya think?
after deciding not to buy another $500 plastic "HIGH QUALITY" bumper guard that will just break again if the wind hits it hard enough or if a bug smacks into it on the highway..., i got spray paint, nuts, washers and bolts form home depot last night and finished it this afternoon.. what'd ya think? i think i'm gonna go with the Westin bar for a fraction of the $...

Looks fine. Since they are metal, the paint will eventually chip off but you don't even notice the plugs at all.

Boy, I'm really lost. After seeing that large gapping hole, how did you get it to look like that. It looks like one piece to me. I mean did you epoxy it or what.
However you did it, great job.

i'm not sure what you mean with the epoxy.. i took the broken bumper guard off and had to patch the 4 holes..so i did it with nuts and bolts.. is that what you meant?

yes you are missing something...the broken piece was a sport bumper trim, which is an ad on to the original bumper....when he broke the front, he romoves it and had 4 holes in the original bumper from the install....so he plugged the 4 holes that remained

Whew, I was with jharris, I thought Vinnie had fixed that big, gaping hole in the bumper with bolts, etc. I was going to nominate Vinnie for the annual McGyver award and the award for the best bondo job on the planet!

thanks for the nomination.. i can see how it was confusing.. i should have posted this to my original thread... the Sport bumper is slowly and carefully getting glue/epoxyed together.. i have to let the piece dry overnight to finish my jigsaw puzzle.. just a few more piece and then i'm done.. i might use bondo or fiberglass resin when i'm done to make it a bit strong.. i'll have to see how it come out.. i might leave it off totally.. the truck looks different without it... i know, the glue make is look really bad, but i'll sand, bondo and paint to make it look good again..
