I agreed, now if they were HID projector then it would be worth it but not regular projector.

Hey there - I just got some JDM-style headlights for my 'Runner. I can see that the easy way to get at the "fourth" screw would be to cut a huge hole in the side fender wall, but does anyone out there know the correct way to get the tough screw out? Do I have to remove the whole bumper? Is there a trick? THANKS!!!

crawl under the truck.. and if you have a good reach, you can see and remove the bolt with a bit of arm twisting. otherwise.. you'll need to remove the bumper to access the bolt more easily.

iforce,

I am seriously considering this. Questions that I have are:

The trim filler piece; how is it attached and will I need a different kind of clip then what is used on my '05?

The HID kit; did you have to special order the parts considering that we have a 9006 harness and what would be an H11 bulb?

Any other suggestions you may have before starting?

Thanks.

When anyone is planning on this AMAZING upgrade, you have two choices in terms of headlights. The SR5/Limited use a chrome (shiny) housing whereas the SE use a gunmetal colored housing. I have a black truck so therefore I opted for the SE headlights as I do like the color of it.

Are the eBay headlights equal in light output and quality to OEM? Obviously OEM is best but the price difference and appearance seem appealing...any question in the projection beam?

In case someone on ebay reselling Toyota headlights, they are good.
All other ebay lights I've seen are not as good as OEM, some are very bad in light output. This is your safety, so think from this perspective.

I am thinking about doing this to my 03 4runner. So there is a gap between the bumper filler piece and the actual grille?

In your photos, it also looks like there is a small gap in between the hood of the car and the lights themselves. Is it really that noticeable or is the picture just making it look bad? Thanks!

I was hoping someone would address that gap concern under the headlights and adjacent to the grill. From what I can see comparing the 2003 grill to the 2006 grill the later seems beefier or large enough that it would cover those gaps.

I'm about to commit to doing this 03 to 06 headlight upgrade and I rather "measure twice and cut once" before I start to purchase everything I need to perform the entire install in one time.

If anybody that has completed this upgrade addressing this gap can confirm what I mentioned about having the 06 grill to cover that gap I would appreciated your efforts.

Nice mod!

Lighting has been bugging me a lot, and I want to stay road friendly to other drivers so slapping in some cheap-o HID kit isn't my style.

I might have to re-visit this later... too many thing to do.

I want to do this. I was wondering if you knew what the part that goes underneath the headlight is?

Search Results | Conicelli Toyota of Conshohock

It's called right/left filler panel. Online it is about $35 each.
