Projector Headlight Installed - 2003
I have a 2003 4runner Limited and have ordered the following parts to convert my blacked-out halogen headlights to a 2006 projector based headlight.
When anyone is planning on this AMAZING upgrade, you have two choices in terms of headlights. The SR5/Limited use a chrome (shiny) housing whereas the SE use a gunmetal colored housing. I have a black truck so therefore I opted for the SE headlights as I do like the color of it.
PARTS:
SE headlight part number:
81130 35470

That looks like a nice cut off pattern just like HID projector. I have been thinking doing the mod ever since I saw mlopez61's install. How does the gap looks up close? Does the piece under the housing come painted?

damn...that is alot....i thought about doing the 2006 headlights too. but its going to be alot of money...so i'm planning to do the custom projectors next week or the week after. i still need some parts... i already pickedup a extra pair of headlights and a6 projectors. i just need to pickup xenons kit and find a nice cool looking projector trim to make it look OEM.
i'm trying to spend under 500 bucks for everything.

how much have you spent for the headlights+ projectors?? the HID kit will cost quite a bit of that budget....and more importantly... how much does your time cost.
that is the biggest reason I went with an 06 headlight instead of modifying my jdm-styled headlights. I just don't have the time to spend on a project of that size.
best of luck, remember to post pics during the process.
