Kenny,
Let’s be clear about the facts here. You called in earlier letting us know that you purchased a set of coilovers from our web store in March, but we were unable to locate this order. So from there we asked for you to send over pictures, and upon doing so noticed that they had a serial number logging information that they were built in May of 2012. Taking this into consideration it is possible that you did buy them new in March (not from our web store as stated), so we asked you to go ahead and send them in for warranty evaluation with the original purchase receipt or proof of purchase. ICON offers a warranty to the original purchaser for 1 year for manufacturer defects. We unfortunately have no idea what these have been through over the last 2.5 years, used or not. Components like this, motors, transmissions, etc. are designed to be used and not sit around.
You are welcome to call me and discuss this further at any time,
Brad

I've been running Icon and Donahoe before that for the better part of 8 years on my FJ and now on my GX, been solid and any minor issues have been taken care of promptly by Icon service. No qualms here with Icon, I stand by em!

Don't pull that shit. First off, SHIT HAPPENS. That's life. Second off, don't come on and start flaming. You are entitled to your opinion, but did you ever think that just MAYBE, these sorts of products aren't met to sit for long periods of times? IT HAPPENS. Don't freak out, it's a part of life. No matter the company, there will always be a bad experience. I have had my ICON CO's and they have been amazing. I can out wheel and race many of my buddies, and I abuse the hell out of them. They are still in perfect shape. ICON also recommends rebuilding these every now and again.
Now to the real part, you lied to ICON. If I was them, I would have done the same thing. They are a killing the off-road world. If you were honest with them, they might pull some strings, knowing you bought them from another member of a forum new. But at this point, I would turn you down as well. Calm the hell down. It's a car part. There's more to life than cars.

Ha. Don't think for one minute that this guy doesn't deal with everything else in his life this way. Clearly a whiny, sniveling, crybaby that throws a tantrum when things don't go his way. Hey OP, do us a favor and throw up some pics of your wife/gf instead of your leaky shocks. If she's hot that is.

With a can of Tecate beer in the picture, how appropriate.

Just an FYI, a pressure washer is a good way to compromise seals. Which then start to leak...

Icons warranty
i'm glad i ran into this older thread. i have a question to whoever can answer this but especially @icon. i just bought a stage 5 from total automotive a forum vendor and i should be getting them in a couple weeks (it's already been about a week since i ordered them) i'm not planning on installing them right away due to time (mostly work) but when does the warranty begins? i know icon warranties their product for a period of 1 year but i'm planning on installing them maybe late december or beginning of january (it's september right now)
so will my warranty begin by the manufacture date or when i install them? thanks in advance for your response.

Typically warranty starts when shipped/delivered so if you receive them next week warranty should start next week. I would not imagine that they would start the warranty when you install them as they have no idea when you install them. The only "traceable" item is date or order or data of shipment. I have had mine since Late July and still trying to find time to install. My assumption is that I am not 2 months into my warranty.... so I guess i need to get on the ball and get them installed haha. That is my experience only based on other purchases.

that's what i thought it would be. since there's no way for them to track when you installed them and i really don't think they want those suspension parts just sitting there. but it is what it is i just don't have the time right now to install them. there was a GB going on and didn't want to miss the opportunity for a good deal. those are some high $$ suspension parts they shouldn't need any kind of warranty (at least that's what i'm hoping for) let me know how your install goes and post pics. thx.
