General Grabber AT/2

I do some soft roading and I found the triple treads and the allenzas to be inadequate bordering on dangerous in anything resembling mud and the Allenzas and snow did not mix IMO. So I was looking for a do it all tire. I was warned that these would be louder and they are. The steering response on dry is a bit sharp as the edges seem to bite. But excepting that I love these tires. They laugh at rocks and mud and snow, especially deep snow. The only caveat there is that I probably shouldn't be having that much fun in the snow. As far as ice they are not quite to the level of the Blizzaks but they're pretty good. For a snowflake rated tire I thought the price was low. First tire that I would consider buying again. FWIW

I'm glad that they worked for you.

I just took them off my 2014 SR5 because they were causing the steering wheel to shake tremendously and they were making my 4Runner pull to the right. I had to turn the steering wheel almost 1/8th of a turn to correct it.

The dealership opted to give me $700 towards the purchase of my choice of tires. Threw some BFG's on and I can't say that I really like those either, but they are quiet and handle rain and puddles well. The part I don't like is that they pick up rocks and throw them like a bunch of rowdy school kids.

Once the Generals came off and the BFG's went on, all was normal. Except for the throwing rocks part.

Thanks for the feedback. Which tires are you thinking about or are you sticking with the BFG's?

My experience with them is much like the OP, I recently put on a set and have to say I love them. They are louder Bridgestone H/T's they replaced. But they do everything I bought them (snow, forest service roads and minor trails) for, exceptionally well. I would and most likely will buy them again when the time comes.

I will keep the BFG's on until they run out of tread.

I have plenty of time to shop. But currently looking at these tires:

- Dick Cepek Mud Country
- BFG Mud Terrain KM2
- Maxxis Trepador
- Toyo Open Country M/T
- ProComp All-Terrain
