My Navigation GPS Unit Won't Find and Address

This may be a common problem but it has me stumped and I hate to have to take it to the dealer and leave it for a day for them to "fix" it.

I have a 2015 4runner XP with 1600 miles on it.

My nav system worked fine for the last 5-6 weeks and then suddenly when I try to find a place by address the address button is grayed out and I can't select it.

I even set all my general options back to factory settings. I can find addresses already in my address book and everything else seems to work fine.

Any Nav guru's out there?

Bob

But seriously, it's a maddening feature that Toyota/Lexus have. My Honda doesn't and allows me full access to the system "on the fly"

There is a way to bypass this, if you are interested:

link: Factory Navigation Override and Unlock Bypass Mod

This module should work for your 5th gen 4Runner.

Thanks but I'm a chicken. I agree that it's a PITA to have to stop and put my 4runner in park to program an address in my Nav but I'm not very mechanical and would probably screw it up if I tried to modify anything... LOL

I DO appreciate the advice though...
