Smile Some road noise ofcourse

Thanks MnRunr,
I have yet to stuff the THULE bag with things and strap it to the cargo rack. But I can tell you this, since the THULE cross bars are boted to the rack, or ViceVersa, i laid it on the floor threw 4x4 piece of plywood on top and asked my wife (test dummy ) to stand on it, so Ican tell you that it can handle a load of approx 150 lbs (not a recommended thing to do ofcourse).

Taking it off is quite easy, all I have to do is unscrew the THULE clamps/adapters (for lack of a better word), and remove cross bars along with cargo rack. If you should need the cross bars for a different application, all you have to do is unbolt the rack from the cross bars.

Glad you liked it :bouncy2:

Cool man, glad you liked it.
Hold on.... are you reffering to the gorgeous Hooter's girl in the background or the actual cargo rack ;-)

Very nice.

Did you consider a "basket" type design, where there would be a front, back, and side wall??

Hi Kenn,
I mainly wanted to build the roof rack so that I could keep the THULE Nomad travel bag off the roof (had a bad experience with it just sitting on the roof).
Building the cargo rack with the "walls" would have been a bit more of a challenge, since I only bolted the tubes to the cross bars. Building a wall would of consited of more bolting and I think it would have looked a bit weird. If I had the right tools may be I would of continued.
