2003 engine removal 4.7

Need to know if anyone's done it, I might have to change my motor out and can't find any how to's, send me links, give me pointers if you have any, all will be much appreciated. I've pulled motors in older vehicles before, never a toyota, or a 4.7, thanks in advance

Other day started drinking oil and smoking, it hasn't ra right since I bought it, no one ever heard of this motor rings going bad.. of course mine does... I tracked and haggled my ass off to find a 130k motor for 650 plus 100 core that I'll get back when I give them my old motor (still undecided if I'm gonna give them my motor or sell it for parts ) my motor has skipped on cylinder 7 and 8 since I bought it. But either this weekend or next I'll change the motor out

the repair manual has a pretty in depth guide, just go under the car and open the hood and look around for connections, the hardest part will probably be keeping track of bolts, how much will the new engine cost?

I talked a big junk yard near atl down from 800 to 650, then when I got there they were suprised that I showed up so they knocked off 50 more. 3k warranty then 100$ for core charge. So I made out like a bandit. Gonna change it Friday and Saturday might lay it over to sunday also depending on how hot it is. I've been working on a 1905 house gutting it in the 98 degree weather in Georgia. Hopefully it goes well with minimal broken shit

I have done it. I had to make a bracket and make some bolts adapters so I didn't have to pull the intake. I also pulled the transmission with the engine. This is also a good time to do the timing belt!

If you keep the engine or can get a part, I need the water pump/fan drive bracket.

I bought the SR5 (#2) with a bad motor, replaced it with the motor and transmission from Sport (#1) that I knew the complete history of since I bought it new.

The hooks will not allow you stab the tail of the transmission under the firewall while clearing the radiator support. They are used on the assembly line for installing the motor/trans to the frame without any body around it, guessing here. Using the old chain and hooks for the engine might work, but you will have very little adjustment to align the torque converter and the flywheel bolts. The picture shows the homemade balancer that will allow the engine/trans to almost stand on it's tail.

I need this piece and can ship back the broken piece for your core! Notice the place where the upper belt pulley bolts is broken off (upper left)
