Definitive Bilstein 6112 Shock Guide

Bilstein is just weeks away from releasing round two of applications for their 6112 performance coilover! Since last year we have had an amazing response from Toyota Tacoma, FJ, Tundra & 4Runner owners who were the first to get these high performance offroad shocks. By Mid-October we will have for sale revised kits for 4th & 5th gen 4Runner’s which will have staggered snap ring grooves, plus we are releasing a 96-02 3rd gen 4Runner 6112 System (47-258624). We may be most excited about the new 2000 – 2006 Toyota Tundra kit (PN 47-243729) which we helped Bilstein develop. Toward the end of October 2016 Bilstein will begin shipping the 09+ Ram 1500 4WD system.

MRTMotorsports.net is your best source for the Bilstein 6112! We have the most knowledge and the best pricing ensuring you get exactly what you want at a price you are happy with!

The 6112 Coilovers for the Ford F150 and the GM / Chevy kits are released but we don’t have a solid date yet on their production. These systems took extra time because Bilstein had to develop a new “bomber” lower crossbar bushing. Look for these toward the start of 2017.

Light Truck New Releases:
• 2010 – 2016 Toyota 4Runner B8 6112 front kit – Part# 47-259768
• 2003 – 2009 Toyota 4Runner B8 6112 front kit – Part# 47-260153
• 1996 – 2002 Toyota 4Runner B8 6112 front kit – Part# 47-258624
• 2000 – 2006 Toyota Tundra B8 6112 front kit – Part# 47-243729

Bilstein has also developed a suspension kit for the late model Ram 2500/3500 4×4 diesel. These are Coil Spring/Shock leveling kits and also include a new heavy duty spring isolater and are available with either a 5100 or a 5160 damper. The new Ram 2500/3500 suspension has an unusual design that arches the spring as it cycles so when you add more travel & lift the stock upper isolator starts to become an issue. The kit really makes a huge improvement to the trucks ride quality and we expect they will be well received by Dodge owners market. The MSRP for the 5112 is $671 and the 5162 is $997. Bilstein B8 5112 and B8 5162 high performance leveling kits provide more ground clearance, allow for larger tires, and increase wheel travel. The Bilstein B8 5112 suspension kit consists of (2) B8 5100 shock absorbers combined with (2) matched coil springs. The Bilstein B8 5162 suspension kit includes (2) B8 5160 remote reservoir shock absorbers for increased oil capacity and (2) matched coil springs. These simple yet effective kits will bolt into the factory locations with no modifications. The Bilstein B8 5112 and B8 5162 suspension kits provide a smooth and stable ride both on and off-road.

4th gen lift amount per circlip position

do you by any chance have the lift amounts for each of the 6 circlips for the 4th gen 4runner application?

What about extended and compressed lengths for the 3rd gen 4runner and the 99-06 Tundra? How much difference is the valving between the two? I would be interested in the Tundras for my 3rd gen t4r.

I ran the 1st gen 5100s with tundra TRD coils on my 00' and it was the best set around..next to an adjustable coilover if you were find with 2" of lift.

Which Circlip would be used to obtain a 1.25 lift on the 5th Gen? Same as previous model?

I haven't replaced my shocks yet 200,000km, ... but I hear that they get worn out and the ride gets "nice" then when you replace them the ride is hard and uncomforable again .
Thoughts?

Any info on the free height and spring rate of the 2000-2006 Tundra coil springs? Also, the extended and collapsed lengths of the 2000-2006 Tundra shocks.

Thanks!

I would also be interested in seeing extended and collapsed specs as well as spring rates for the 96-02 4runner and 00-06 Tundra 6112s. If the Tundra ones are valved stiffer and have the right measurements, I would think they would work well on a 4runner with extra weight. I'd love to buy a set, but I can't before seeing these specs.
