Voice Command Question

I just got my 2007 Limited with Nav system. It came with a supplemental user guide to the nav system but doesn't list voice commands. Another very small "getting started" booklet lists the commands but it doesn't totally agree with the on-screen help guide's list of commands.

Many of the commands don't seem to work, no matter how I or my wife try to pronounce the words or change the pace. For one example, the commands to control the climate system that are in the small booklet aren't listed in the on-screen help, and don't work. Other commands are recognized some of the time, but not all the time.

So far, I'm a little disappointed in the system.

Does anyone have any insight as to what's going on with this?

Thanks.

Al

Apparently the "getting started" booklet is pretty generic and includes commands that don't work. People on the Sienna forums also have the same problem. You can't get the climate control commands to work because they are not linked to the navigation system. Only the Prius has the climate control linked to the navigation system.

I've attached PDF's of some of the speech commands, i'm not sure if there are more.

I can't control HVAC options through voice command on my '06. Unless that's a new feature for '07, but I'm pretty sure '07 is a carryover of '06. As far as I know, only audio commands, nav and phone options are voice controlled.

Thanks guys. This answers my question. I guess the manual writers added the climate control commands just to confuse us. I can understand why they wouldn' work if the climate control system is not managed by the nav system screen.

Any tips on how to get better results with the voice recognition? Some commands work pretty well but others hardly at all.
