tire sidewall damage

Recently discovered my Michelin MS/2s have lost some skin on one of the tires. They are only ~2.5 years old, roughly 25k miles on them.

Not sure how big of a risk this is. There is no bulging, but the cut in the center looks a bit deep and just past the white layer. With a 300mi trek next weekend, a bit worried about longevity on the highway, but also don't want to drop $800 on a new set of tires.

Also no idea what caused this. Obviously was sharp, but haven't been offroad in months, and the 4r has only logged about 200miles the last 4 monthes.

Also, is Michelin no longer making MS/2s??

Your pics are not visible. As for any damage to sidewall, I would not risk it. Try to repost the pic.

Thanks <<<<

Not sure why not. Visible to me. Hosted on imgur which I know more than a few have used since the headaches with photobucket. Is there a better img host?

Okay I see them now (different browser). I would definitely replace that tire especially if you drive on highway. GL

Picture too big to see.
Best is to shrink to no more than 800 pixels wide.
640 is even better.
Just fyi.
