Thanks.
I like the round duals as well. I had thought about them as well.

Dual tips
Momo.75
Took delivery of the new rig (awesome!) and finally got around to the exhaust shop (this guy does excellent stainless work.) Looked for your tips on the MagnaFlow poster and in the catalogue but SOL. Do yours have an angle cut or are they straight cut (part #35170)? Same thing at several specialty shops around town. There are other styles that are close but still SOL. Can you track down a part number or did they join 2 seperate tips into 1? Maybe we just can't get the latest stuff in the Great White North.
Thanks.

I would really appreciate it. I've waited this long for the truck and I don't want to mess it up.
Thanks again.

Exhaust tip mod
Sorry about not having pics.
The shop finally got the correct tip in and installed. Used the MagnaFlow #35170 (just like Momo above) and it looks great! Confirmed that the entire exhaust is stainless.
Also no difference in sound. The resonator is probably there to pass some vehicle design exterior noise test that the driver wouldn't care about. The watermelon was exactly that: full of exhaust condensate water.
This mod will also help against the exhaust smell (getting in the open back window) that has been written about in other threads.
Thanks again Momo for all your help.

Do it
Go for it!
They changed from the side exit because they had to put the resonator but it doesn't do squat except look bad.
Get a good custom shop (not a chain shop) to do the work in stainless.
Also noticed while it was on the hoist that there are 2 tapped holes above the stock exhaust exit point. You can attach another rear tow loop (this will also balance out the rear look now that the pipe is gone.) Off to the parts counter we go...

Cost
Tip and installation cost me $190 Loonies in CAN (~U$145). The tip itself retail was $160 (U$120) but I got a break. I'm not sure where you are but you should be able to find a custom exhaust shop that will bend and weld stainless steel as well as order the part. A lot of chain shops can't but might say they can. The honest one's might be able to direct you to someone who can.
Hope this helps.

Will a Magnaflow clear the WAAG Rear bumper guard?
Well, does anyone know WHERE exactly the magnaflow cat back exits the rear? I know it's passenger side, but how close to the muffler?
THe reason I ask is I have the WAAG rear bumper guard, and it attaches like so down below. . .
From the looks of it, I won't be able to put on ANY cat back exhaust. . .since the rear bumper guard bolts on so close to the stock exhaust muffler location. . .HELP!!

I'd have to se a shot from underneath to tell.
Don't you have the Brush guard on the front? If so, throw a good daytime shot of it on here as well.

Wow...that looks totally sick (how'd I do, kids? sick is good, right?)
All of the magnaflow tips are here.
I really want to add a catback, but fishwife would probably divorce me if I do a loud exhaust on this truck. She hated riding in my V8 Jeep with a Borla catback. A little bling never hurt anybody tho.
Does anybody have any sound files of various exhaust systems on V8 4runners? I'd love to hear the Borla, TRD, and Magnaflow systems.
