Angry No TRD CAI for V8

Sadly, I just received this from TRD.

Thank you for your interest in TRD. At this time, there are no plans to offer a cold air intake kit for the V8. Sorry!

I've seen that you now have a CAI for the V6. When do you anticipate
coming out with one for the V8?

Yeah, because they're too busy designing shift knobs and sway bars for Scions...

What's wrong with a Volant or K&N?

Not a big loss,

the parts arent designed by TRD anyway and would have been sourced from K&N or another manufacturer. In the end, because it had the TRD label on it, you would have been paying more for it and gotten the same intake everyone else got.

Yeah, just was scared of some of the fitment issues reported. So, you two happy with the Volant? I'm leaning that direction. BTW, I would truly appreciate (if is not too much of a PITA) if you could post measurements of the filter -- the larger one. I want to see if one of the new Amsoil filters will fit, but need the measurements.

Im happy with the volant once installed with the proper parts. I had multiple issues with volant for their kit and while it was a pain to get everything finally together, the kit works and works well.

Hey Casper,

What were some of the issues you had with installing the Volant CAI? Sounds like fitment was an issue?!? Did the kit have the wrong parts or what? Thanks.
