Constant Parking Brake light after DVD install!

I had an Eclipse AVN-5500 DVD/Navigation added to the vehicle. I grounded the ebrake wire elsewhere so I could override the dvd disable function. Afterwards I noticed that the emergency brake light stays on whether the brake is on or not. Does anyone know how I can fix this and still have the operation of the dvd while in drive? Thanks

I'm no expert but it could be the grounding location, try a different location and see if it works.

I figured it out! After asking the installation tech not to hook up the ebrake he did anyway. So the red and white wire that I thought was looping from the back of the radio was actually wired into the ebrake. I originally cut the wire and grounded both together. Today upon further review I found that the wire did not loop back to the radio, it was going to the ebrake. I cut the ebrake side and grounded the single wire from the unit. No more ebrake light when its not engaged!

OR!

Im dumbfounded by why he wouldnt have just given you a switch or something that would go (GROUND ---- SWITCH ---- PARK WIRE) its illegal, but its how you do it..

Isnt there any kind of sequence you need to follow for that screen??
