Alpine 9857 installed with iPod cable and Sirius radio....

Thought maybe some of you would like these pics. I have had this in for a few weeks now and I am overall very impressed by this HU. I also installed the iPod cable that is specific to Alpine's iPod 'full speed control'. This works great!!! It is hands down the best iPod control I've seen so far for any system. I placed the connector for the cable in the the little storage area below the climate controls. This works just perfect for the my 30 gig iPod and keeps it out of the way and out of sight. I put the Sirius control box under my driver seat and the antenna is located centered on the roof in the back. The cable comes through the gap of the roof/tailgate and into the wiring gromet.

Looks very nice. How long ago did you install it? I tried the Alpine 9856 at one point and it was an awesome radio with one design flaw......The unit had a dimmer control, but it only slightly dimmed the 6 blue lights. It was extremely annoying at night. I eventually had it pulled out and replaced with the Pioneer DEH-580. It had red lighting and it's easier on the eyes.

Did you know you can hook your steering wheel controls up to that unit? The volume and mode function should work normally. The channel button will sort of work.....instead of changing from the presets in your radio, it will just change to the next channel.

Good luck with it, I love mine!
