I love doing the windshield. Limo dark all the way around with windshield makes it very difficult to see into my 4R while I am in it. I like the privacy.

Yeah can’t do that just for the fact I’d like to be able to see out at night and also I’d prefer not to get a ticket and waste more money just to remove it. I’m not Richie Rich

I've never had a problem with either of those issues... yet
I'd be pissed if I had to take it off, but like I said, on all the cars I've done this to, never had an issue.

Grew up in the Bay Area. Got a ticket for tint on driver and passenger windows <1 week after I got them done. Reason for getting pulled over? Cop said she could hear my subs bumping that bass from 4 blocks away. Got written up for that one too. I tried to roll down both driver/passenger window before she actually came up to my car, first words out of her mouth was "I already saw your window tint" or something like that.

That's true, it is pretty expensive, but it's also touted to be some Tier 1 stuff. Word from my tint person who is a certified 3m installer is it's much harder to work with.
The performance demonstrations (meter tests) seem to be significant when compared to other films. It was a big selling point for me.
I got a quote of $225 just to do my Windshield on my Acura. Ill be doing my entire 4runner in Crystalline, probably end up being close to 1k.
I like that it’s not a ceramic film, does not interfere with GPS, radio, or other signal stuff. Some tint shops use ceramic sun control film that goes on buildings which ends up being cheaper, but not as good for automotive.
I guess I just gotta pay to play.

Hey Bumbo, what part of Cali you from? Just wondering.
Also is the $225 quote for your Acura’s windshield with the Crystalline tint? If it is, that’s not bad then. The place where I got my tint charges $300 for their top of the line tint which is the Formula One Stratos, and from what I’ve read and researched, the Stratos tint is just a tad below the Crystalline as far as performance wise goes.
I also requested a quote from one of the tint shops in Santa Clarita that also does Xpel Prime XR and XR Plus tints and they quoted me $500 and $600 respectively to do my wife’s Sequoia. The XR Plus from what I’ve read and researched online is almost on par with the Crystalline that 3M sells.
Quick question, as far as 3M tints are concerned, how is their warranty? What I liked about the Llumar/Formula One tints are that they have a transferable lifetime warranty.

Just recently got a quote to do my wife's vehicle w/ Crystalline tint and they quoted me at $995 for the whole vehicle minus the windshield and an extra $395 to do the windshield . That windshield alone costs almost as much as my whole 4runner using the Formula One Pinnacle.

tint place charge by the window, even if its a little tiny sail window like the front of the prius, its still a window.

Don’t know what part of Cali you live in, but my buddy told me of this tint shop in Alhambra that uses 3M products called G5 Tint and I just got a quote to do my wife’s Sequoia for $640 and $250 for the windshield using Crystalline tint. I looked at 3M’s website and it shows that the shop is a premier elite dealer.

This is definitely a thing, only at very certain angles... I don't find myself wearing sunglasses often at all (I've got regular glasses on my head if I'm driving lol), but a friend of mine tested it prior to getting the tint on his windshield, and while there is some rainbowing, it wasn't enough to deter him from it
