Using OEM phone buttons on steering wheel to control phone functions on Pioneer Z1

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the OEM steering wheel phone buttons to control the phone functions on the Z1? I'm using the SWI-PS to control the audio functions and was wondering if there is some similar interface for the phone buttons.

no its not.

Why would you want them anyway? You can talk to the Z1 and tell it what to do with your phone anyway.

Along with the phone controls on the steering wheel is the voice command button- thats's what I'm after.

you would to have to change to the SWIX... it is the infared adapter and programable... the mode button on my steering wheel puts my AVHP6800DVD into Attenuate... kinda cool

Still with the swix you'd have to hope that the phone buttons are going through the same wire as the radio control buttons. Very possible but unlikely. Also with the swix, you can only program what is on the remote for the radio. So if you don't have any phone control buttons on the remote, you can't do it. Basically the swix duplicates the IR transmitter from the remote to the radio.

Personally I hate the SWIX...it lags and is inconsistent betwen cars. You can push volume up and it'll jump 10 spots, and then volume down you can hold and it'll barely move.

Stick with the wired input and forget about the phone controls because it isn't worth it.
