03 self leveling air bag question.

I've been looking around and can't see the answer I'm looking for anywhere.
Is there any issue with leaving the rear suspension at full height all the time and leveling the front to the rear? I was thinking about putting billstein 5100 shocks in but my understanding is the air bags don't want to compress that far without potential damage, since I'm mostly after clearance for ruts can I just put in a bump stop at the right height?
I don't know where that will put the front exactly, anybody know if that'll put me into tearing CV boot territory?
If it's been done I would love to see some pics and get an idea of tire size, costs and issues associated.
If it's a bad idea I definitely want to know that being I put any more thought into it...
Thanks!
