What did you install that you regret?

For me it'd have to be the digital guard dawg pushbutton start. I thought it'd be a $1000 investment at the most. It turned into $3000 total for all the labor plus cost of rental cars and I had to have the system removed after 6 months.
My dealer totally ripped me off selling me an aftermarket $700 radio for $1900.
So with all the stupid parts I've bought, I've thrown away about $6000.

I cheaped out on a double din touchscreen head unit. I'm not an audiophile so I sound quality wasn't the issue, but it doesn't actually fit my double din dash kit so there was a lot of dremeling to make work. Some, but certainly not all, of that could be the JBL sizing. The station scanning is pretty non user friendly as well as no AM radio which I now wish I had. Still need to diagnose the rear view camera not turning on before I blame the head unit vs my connections. In the next few years or whenever I have a good chance I'll replace with a quality unit and maybe try to find a non JBL dash to make it better.

Cheap exhaust instead of a proper name brand, worst decision ever

Installing high-lift cams with shim spacers without converting it to shim under bucket. Cost me a new engine. Oh well, live and learn.

Changing out my stock 4runner alternator for the bigger GMC alternator. Killed my battery twice and finally while on my way to work, the alternator suddenly just stopped working while I was on the freeway. Luckily there was traffic and I was able to limp to the emergency lane before my car totally died

None cuz I usually go back and forth if I really "need" a mod for couple months before I pull the trigger.
