Tacoma suspension swap onto GX470 question

Hey there guys, been a lurker for some time, been doing a lot of reading on suspension upgrades and reading up on what will work and what won't work. I have an opportunity to get a set of fox shocks 2.0 with less than 5k miles for $600 with mostly highway driving according to the owner. I plan to do a mild lift and mainly use it for my commute, light trails for fishing and camping trips but most of drive will come from 90% commuting. My GX is stock, no plans to add any heavy gear or bumpers, just replacing the rear OEM shocks that are going out. I hear that the Tacoma suspension would bolt right up front of our chassis but that the rear would require a new eyelet bushing in order to have it bolt up. I understand that there are several configurations I can go; toytec ultimates, dobsons, bilstein and etc, but for the price and with some modifications, would this be a bad deal/idea? Thanks in advance!

Doesnt the GX have height control? Regular shocks won't worknunleds you put stiffer springs in....

The GX stock suspension can handle a bunch of difficult trails and move at a very nice speed on the terrain you describe while being very comfy on road. I think the Fox 2.0 will end up being quite the downgrade, particularly for the described use.

Are you sure it is going out? Even if you do need new OE shocks, they can easily last 200k. In 200k, you will go through about 3 rebuilds on a "go fast suspension" without ever using it for that. And if you don't rebuild yourself, you will end up paying a lot more for a lot less. My 2c.
