Something I learned from Bilstein.
I was so very puzzled by their 600lb spring behavior that I concluded they had valved the 6112 way too softly.
Well, not quite. Their 600lb spring is actually softer and the 6112 is not valved softly. This explains the phenomenal ride quality on 600. And it also means that the 6112 is in fact better suited to the 650lb springs for offroading, it is not just the springs doing the work.
This also explains the huge jump in performance from 600 to 650; it is more than the nominal numbers indicate.
So this is like tires, you can have a 285 tire that is 8.2" wide or 8.9" wide

How much of the improvement of the 650s do you attribute to the additional weight your running? skids, etc. Another way of asking, what if someone wasn't adding weight and staying stock? Would they be better off with the original 600# springs to match with 6112s?

So that's the deal. The standard springs are NOT 600 no matter what a vendor may tell you. Bilstein would not tell me exactly but is 550 max so "550".
300lb evenly distributed is not that much but it seemed to have a marginal impact with the "550" springs.
I would say that for Midwest conditions, I would go standard spring all day long for its exceptional ride quality.
However, if you do a lot of rocks, roots, even at low speed, your front will be falling onto them with gusto. The soft front springs make the dynamic ground clearance in the front ridiculous. Going from 1 to 2.5 inches of lift won't really solve the problem though it may reduce it.
In sum, I would take the soft springs in the Midwest for pavement and dirt roads but not if I were planning on frequent rocks, roots, ruts, bumps, ditches.

I can seem to find if anyone has had this same issue. 2019 non kdss and no armor. Just installed 6112's with 600lbs springs. Max settings for non-kdss. 7 on drivers and 5 on passenger. Still had about 1/2 drivers lean. I had to add a 1/4 spacer on top of the drivers side already at 7 to get it within almost even each other. Anyone else have same issues? Curious if 650 lbs springs would have made a difference. Didnt mean to hijack the thread but too new on the forum and cant start a new post yet.

Those are not 600lb, they are 550lb at most.
Mine is perfectly level at 2 and 4 settings on 650 and was so also with 550.
I don't like the idea of a spacer on top of max settings.

Accordingly to the part number kit of 47-259768 and spring # e4-fd1-z005b50, I suppose some say its a 600lb spring and now recently others are sayings its actually only a 550 then..... fantastic.

So the point is what Bilstein is saying, right?
Have you ever seen them advertise it as 600?
Give them a call.
I did after I found the 6112 standard spring to be bouncy as heck like the stock one and way softer than the 590lb Dobinsons spring I previously had.
I cleared more rocks on stock shocks and the 590lb Dobs spring than on 6112 on standard springs. It was extremely disappointing.

I'll admit i can't find bilstein themselves advertising it. Just a couple vendor sites or forums. My gut was right..... should had went with the heavier springs (650's) but I talked myself out of it when i pulled the trigger to purchase. Looks like ill be swapping in the near future. Thanks for the info Mast4r.

Why not use Bilstein Shocks on your ride? It has the potential to increase overall stability while decreasing sway and bounce. The consistency, handling, and control of the ride would all improve, resulting in a smooth and relaxed ride. By replacing your old shocks with Bilsteins, you will noticeably improve the ride of your motorhome.
